We owned the John A Prescott home in Jaffrey, NH from 1999-2002 which has Rufus Porter style Murals exposed if looking at the house from Prescott Road in bedoom left, upper hallway and front left bedroom. I believe the stair wall would reveal answers to who painted the murals in what I believe to be 1827 to be ready when John married Martha in 1828 which is dated in the attic when John had renovated this property before his marriage as a gift to Martha. I believe Rufus Porter headed this muraling but had several helpers in training who also painted the Prescott Inn walls during this same visit. The Original Prescott Inn originally stood across from Millipore Co.(now taken down) on route 124 the a short distance from what is now The Benjamen Prescott Inn who was the father of John A Prescott. Polly Forcier did original traces and a video of our home before we purchased it. I have bought all her stencils she had traced from our home.
